Hunt Training
At Goldwing Kennels we offer basic to advanced hunt training using effective teaching methods resulting in a canine hunting partner of the highest standard. Our levels of training include:
Four Month Started Gun Dog Program
- all basic on and off leash obedience.
- motivational hold and fetch.
- introduction to birds, gun, water, marking, quartering, hide-a-pooch and decoys.
6 months: generally to achieve a CKC Junior Hunter Title.
Intermediate Gun Dog Level
- advanced obedience commands and field commands.
- lining and handling drills.
- water breaking.
- land and water retrieves.
- blinds on land and water.
- trailing.
- advanced decoy and bird work including hunting up the decoy field and retrieving geese.
- sit to flush
- all situational phases of being steady and honoring.
10 months: generally to achieve a CKC Senior Hunter Title.
Advanced Gun Dog Level
- advanced lining and hand signal work.
- longer blinds with diversions such as poison or shot birds on a return retrieve.
- advanced multiple marks.
- backing other dogs on upland hunting.
16 months: generally to achieve a CKC Master Hunter Title
